Sub: World Environment Day 2008 Celebrations, Goa (INDIA)
World Environment Day, commemorated every year on 5 June, is an important day through which the United Nations promotes worldwide awareness of the environment related problems. Green Triangle Society, an NGO dedicated towards promotion of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment celebrates World Environment Day each year in a benefiting manner.

This year, Green Triangle Society in association with Inspectorate of Factories & Boilers, Govt. of Goa and Envirocare Labs Pvt.Ltd., a scientific organization in the fore front of Environmental Monitoring, Food, Water & Product Testing, Consultancy, Research and Training have come together to celebrate World Environment Day on 5th June 2008 in Goa by organizing a Seminar on the Environmental Legislation in India and Environmental Monitoring Systems.

Dr.L.U.Joshi, Chairman Goa Pollution Control Board has consented to be the Chief Guest and Mr.Michael M. D’souza, Director Science, Technology & Environment to be the Guest of Honor.
The World Environment Day 2008 slogan by UNEP is “Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy” Recognizing that climate change is becoming a defining issue of our era, this one day seminar will be on the lines of the UNEP theme, urging countries, industries and communities to focus on how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The seminar will also focus on Environmental Legislation in India and Environmental Monitoring, topics of relevance and interest to the participants.
Two eminent speakers in the field of Environment will be the faculty for the program. First Presentation will be on Environmental Monitoring by Dr. Nilesh Amritkar, Director Laboratories Envirocare Labs Pvt.Ltd, followed by a second Presentation on Environmental Legislation in India by Ms..Meenakshi Kulkarni, Associate Consultant, Envirocare Labs Pvt.Ltd
